October= all things apple! This warm apple cider is spiked with just a touch of bourbon. It's a nice way to wrap up a chilly fall day and it might inspire some apple picking on a fall weekend :) The secret ingredient? Our Heritage Apple Fruit Spread. Kick back, sip, and enjoy!
Hot Spiked Caramel Apple Cider
Ingredients - makes 1
- 4 oz apple cider
- 1 tbsp Heritage Apple Fruit Spread
- ½ tbsp lemon juice
- 1 oz water
- ⅛ - ¼ tsp apple pie spice
- 2 oz bourbon
Topping
- Whipped cream, to serve
- Caramel sauce, to serve
- Apple pie spice
Directions
- Add all ingredients except bourbon and toppings to a small saucepan. Whisk well to combine. Bring to a simmer and simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the cider mixture into a heat safe mug and stir in the bourbon. Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and apple pie spice. Enjoy warm!
